For food as fresh as it can be, plus a great day out, visit one of Central Scotland’s Farmers’ Markets. Wild boar, venison, ostrich and water buffalo compete with organic traditional meats. You’ll also find fish, free-range eggs, cheeses, seasonal fruit & veg, plus home-baked farm products alongside organic beers, chocolates and chutneys.
There are venues throughout Central Scotland – see www.scottishfarmersmarkets.co.uk for details. Our favourites include Overton Farm, Clarkston and Falkirk. These markets alternate weekends to avoid clashing: see below.
