Opened in 2001, The Falkirk Wheel made it possible for boats to cross Scotland for the first time in 40 years.

It’s the world’s only revolving boat lift, with an amazing futuristic design to match its engineering innovation. Most of all, it’s a great day out. Watch the wheel rotate from the Visitor Centre in a landscaped amphitheatre, then get on board for the one-hour Falkirk Wheel Experience.

Other facilities include a play area, trails and café.

From east, follow signs for M9, take junction 8 onto M876, then junction 1.
From west, follow signs for M80, take junction 5 onto M876, then first exit.
